Barclaycard Arena celebrates win at the wows
25 January 2016The Barclaycard Arena team were celebrating another award win last night, as the venue was named 'Best Arts and Entertainment Venue' at the annual Wonders Of Westside Awards (WOWs).
Successor to the Best Of Broad Street Awards, the evening recognises the achievements of those working in Birmingham’s premier mixed use business area; with 15,000 people employed in over 300 businesses, including offices, hotels, pubs, clubs, restaurants and leisure venues.
This is the Barclaycard Arena's second consecutive award win, having won Best Overall Venue at the event in 2015.
General Manager of the Barclaycard Arena, Guy Dunstan said: "It is with great pleasure we receive this award from the Westside BID. In the last year we have hosted everything from Basketball, Boxing and Badminton, to world-class acts such as One Direction and legends Madonna, Lionel Richie and Sir Paul McCartney at the Arena.
“We will continue our efforts to bring a diverse range of events to the region, and have already secured some fantastic events for 2016/17.”
