The NEC (National Exhibition Centre) is where brands are born, products are launched and networks are made. It was opened in 1976 and has been in love with events for over forty years.

The NEC is the UK’s largest exhibition venue and benefits from unrivalled connectivity by road, rail and air. With 18 interconnecting halls and 32 conference suites, the venue welcomes around 2.3 million visitors and over 45,000 exhibiting companies to more than 149 exhibitions every year, including flagship shows like Spring Fair International, Motorhome & Caravan and Crufts.

uk’s best connected venue

Benefiting from unrivalled connectivity by road, rail and air, the NEC is the most conveniently located venue in the country. 75% of the UK’s population live within a three-hour drive of the venue and can access it through the fantastic transport network that surrounds the site.

As well as a physical connection to Birmingham Airport and Birmingham International train station, the NEC is in close proximity to the M6 and M42 and has around 16,500 car parking spaces for visitors.

Accessibility is essential and Birmingham Airport’s recently completed runway extension has opened up new long haul routes to Asia and the US West Coast. In addition, rail travel from the site will soon be transformed through a planned new high speed station bringing central London, Manchester and Leeds within 40 minutes, as well as putting in place the essential infrastructure necessary to do business effectively across the UK, Europe and beyond.

Resorts World Birmingham - the UK’s first integrated destination leisure and entertainment complex - opened on the NEC site in 2015.

It comprises a casino, four-star boutique hotel and Asian-themed Santai Spa, an outlet shopping centre containing 50 units, an 11-screen IMAX cinema, 18 restaurants and bars and the Vox - a multi-use conference and banqueting facility managed by the ICC Birmingham team.

The £150 million development has made the NEC site a 24/7 visitor destination and supports the continued prosperity and growth of the NEC campus, which now welcomes six million visitors each year.
