The Ticket Factory is celebrating after being awarded the exclusive ticketing contract for next year’s LEN European Aquatics Championships to be held at the London Aquatics Centre at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

This latest win adds to The Ticket Factory’s continued growth within the sports sector.  Having handled most of the Lawn Tennis Association’s 2015 calendar, the latest success was the sell-out Davis Cup semi-final in Glasgow.  Through a partnership with Sky Sports, The Ticket Factory also sold out the Olympic Park Velodrome in just seven minutes for Bradley Wiggins’s cycling World Hour Record attempt in June this year.

Under the agreement with Swimming Championships 2016 Ltd, The Ticket Factory has already built a bespoke white-label ticketing solution which exceeded sales expectations at pre-sale and will now work with the Local Organising Committee to deliver a sports marketing campaign that will ensure remaining tickets are sold ahead of the event held from 9-22 May2016.  The Ticket Factory is also handling full contact centre, fulfilment and box office services for the event. It is estimated that over 30,000 tickets will be sold for the Championships which are returning to London for the first time since 1938.

The event will benefit from The Ticket Factory’s continued investment into the customers’ ticket buying experience which includes a mobile optimised website, an event booking system which enables customers to select tickets for multiple events across the disciplines of swimming, diving  and synchronised swimming, payments through PayPal and dedicated customer service support.

Stuart Cain, Managing Director at The Ticket Factory, said: “This puts The Ticket Factory on to the international sporting stage and puts us head-to-head with other players in this market. We came close to winning the Rugby World Cup and World IAAF Championships in 2017, so I’m delighted to secure this major international event.

“Apparently, we were chosen ahead of the competition due to our system functionality and creative marketing package.  I think it was more to do with my threat to wear trunks for the pitch.”

The Championships are currently held every two years and in 2016 focus on three disciplines; swimming, diving and synchronised swimming at the London Aquatics Centre at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park between  Monday 9th May to Sunday 22nd May inclusive.

Tom Chambers, CEO at the London 2016 LEN European Aquatics Championships, said: “The Ticket Factory has come on board as an official supplier of the European Aquatics Championships 2016.

“We were impressed with the full programme of support offered by The Ticket Factory as part of their proposal and believe they mirrored our priorities for the Championships.

“The European Aquatics Championships will form a crucial part of the performance journey for all three disciplines and provide a benchmark ahead of the Rio Olympic Games being held later in the year, so it was important for us to choose the right ticketing agent.”

Tickets for The European Aquatics Championships 2016 will go on sale from 15th September following a successful pre-sale on September 8th and are available from www.theticektfactory.com.
