One year to go until the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham
28 July 2021The countdown is on until the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham - with today marking exactly one year to go.
At the NEC Group, we couldn't be prouder that three of our venues will play host to this festival of sport.
At the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), we will be hosting para powerlifting, weightlifting, table tennis and para table tennis, boxing and badminton.
Meanwhile, netball will be held at Resorts World Arena (named 'NEC Arena' for the Games), with artistic and rhythmic gymnastics at Utilita Arena Birmingham (Arena Birmingham).
To celebrate 'One Year to Go', Perry the mascot has undertaken a roadshow across the region, including a quick stop off for pictures at the NEC.
It culminated in a #1YTG Festival of Sport in Centenary Square, outside the ICC, where people of all ages have come to try some of the sports that will feature.
