NEC Group statement on 'Protect Duty'

The Home Office today announced plans to introduce a law, named 'Protect Duty', which will require venues to put in place increased measures to improve safety and security.

A spokesperson for the NEC Group, said: “As the owner of five of the UK’s leading event venues, the Group fully supports the public consultation on ‘Protect Duty’, which seeks to improve safety and security in public spaces.

“The safety and security of our visitors and staff continues to be our top priority and we are constantly reviewing our security measures with Counter Terrorism Police. Ensuring that they remain effective and proportionate is essential, so visitors have the safest and most enjoyable experiences with us.”
