Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) will be returning to Birmingham’s Genting Arena after confirming a contract with the site for the next three years.

The Arena has hosted Horse of the Year Show for the past 15 years with sister venue the NEC. The renewed contract will see the NEC Campus play home to the ‘World’s Most Famous Horse Show’s’ 70th Anniversary in 2018.

With 1,600 horses and 60,000 spectators, a 15,700 capacity arena, ancillary exhibition halls, and unrivalled connectivity by road, rail and air, the campus is the ideal setting to host the prestigious annual event.

General Manager of the Genting Arena, Guy Dunstan said:  “September will mark our 15th year of hosting the annual Horse of the Year Show.  In this time the show has developed into one of the highlights of our event calendar, having brought in over half a million visitors through our doors.

“A three year contract extension is a fantastic endorsement of the facilities we provide across the NEC Campus, and we look forward to working in partnership with HOYS in the years to come.”

Show Director at Grandstand Media, Richard Todd, added:  “The Genting Arena and NEC are famous for their excellent facilities and unparalleled connectivity, but it is the outstanding teamwork and support and the passion to deliver that enables the NEC campus to help make HOYS the exceptional event that it is”.

Horse of the Year Show 2016 will be held 5-9 October and will host the finals of the most highly regarded national Showing and Showjumping Championships, alongside International Showjumping and an exciting line-up of equestrian entertainment including the spectacular Gilles Fortier ‘Vulcanium – Dreams of Fire’ Performance, a Dressage Master Class with Olympian Carl Hester MBE the Virbac 3D Worming Pony Club Mounted Games for the Prince Philip Cup, Osborne Refrigerators Scurry Racing, as well as the world famous HOYS Puissance.
