The Vox Conference Centre has been awarded Gold at the prestigious Finishes and Interiors Sector (FIS) Contractor Awards for the innovative Skyfold walls installed by moveable partition specialists Style.

The revolutionary Skyfold-vertical partitions allow the five Vox suites to be easily reconfigured, which gives clients the flexibility to tailor each suite to suit their event requirements.

Style also kept the logistical process of events in mind by designing the complex configuration of technologically advanced moveable wall systems to allow seamless set-up and breakdown of event spaces within 30 minutes. For clients this means the suites can be used in any combination for conferences and break-outs in the day before being converted into an exquisite banqueting space on the evening.

Allan Boyle, Director of Event Services at the Vox, said, “The quality of the interior finish is an excellent standard and the Skyfold partitions certainly add that wow-factor, as they automatically descend into place.”

“Style have done a brilliant job in enhancing our purpose built venue to make it a truly flexible conference and banqueting space. Clients have been amazed at how we can transform the suite layout in a matter of minutes at the press of a button.”

Fully automatic, the four Skyfold partitions are housed in the ceiling cavity when they are not in use, completely freeing up floor space for functions. With fabric-covered sound absorption panels, the Skyfold walls offer a 54dB Rw acoustic rating, delivering excellent privacy between divided spaces.

“We have combined key feature wall cladding, softened finishes and enhanced lighting to give a sophisticated ambience”, explains Derek Matthews, Design Director for interior designers on the project, Monteith Scott.  “Style’s moveable walls are a crucial and integral part of the design, helping create a uniquely vibrant space that remains intensely functional.”

Julian Sargent, Style’s group managing director adds, “We’re thrilled to have won Gold seven years out of the last nine and would like to thank the Vox and our partners on this project, Monteith Scott of Birmingham and contractor, Overbury Plc.”

The annual award is given to companies that demonstrate the highest level of craftsmanship, with FIS panel paying a visit to the Vox to judge the quality of the work.
