STAFF LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT’

We offer a wide range of development opportunities through work placements, apprenticeship programmes, interventions with local colleges and universities and an extensive in-house learning and development programme, and we provide tailored plans at every stage of your career whether it’s at your induction or on the job.
In 2013 we introduced our Talent Programme and a new comprehensive Leadership and Development training portfolio to recognise and enhance the skills of those who work for us. We now conduct an annual talent mapping and succession planning exercise which has provided an excellent business tool for identifying areas of learning and development needs, both for the business as a whole and for individuals, and each NEC Group employee should have a Learning and Development plan as part of their annual performance review.
The NEC Group Learning and Development team has delivered over 10,000 pieces of e-learning and over 600 delegates attended face to face workshops – all focused on making our people the best they can be now and in the future.
In addition, a group of around 14 individuals, identified as being our future leaders and with high potential for adding value in our company, work through a tailored 12-month Talent programme to develop their skills and career.
