Ali Campbell, the acclaimed UB40 frontman, announces a full UK solo tour, following the stunning success of his second solo album ‘Running Free’. A unique and special performance at the Royal Albert Hall on 3 April has already created a such a stir, with the demand for tickets being so high, that a full national tour was warranted. The tour will feature songs from ‘Running Free’ and ‘Big Love’ (Ali’s first solo album) alongside other reggae gems that Ali has always wanted to perform.

‘Running Free’, released towards the end of 2007, featured a mix of covers with originals where Ali’s writing talents matched his sublime vocals. With the album featuring many duets, guests included Smokey Robinson, Mick Hucknall, Beverley Knight, Lemar, Bitty McLean and Katie Melua. And while the album’s guests will not be part of the tour, there will be a few surprises along the way.

“UB40’s silver throated warbler has spiced up his second solo outing with guest vocals….. but even without them it would be easy to love” – album of the month, Hi Fi News

“Sleek production highlights Campbell’s ability to radiate warmth on this peachy pop single [Hold Me Tight] which bodes well for his new solo album” Daily Mirror

The gold certified album has proven a hit world-wide, with “Hold Me Tight” going top five as far afield as South Africa. These theatre style dates will give fans a chance to see Ali perform these fantastic solo tracks, in a more up close and personal way, including the singles “Hold Me Tight” and “Would I Lie To You”.
