The second phase of the NEC’s £40 million improvement programme is successfully underway, bringing major changes to the venue’s restaurants and car parks.
The latest impressive upgrades follow an £8 million revamp of the Piazza area, which kick-started the ambitious three-year programme.
Four catering areas in two halls have now been transformed using fresh branding, innovative design and accessible layouts. Visitors can choose to relax with a three-course meal, grab a quick snack or take time-out at one of the stylish bars.
Outside over £2 million has been injected into the venue’s car parks, with new resurfacing work on three car parks .
Customer feedback has been a crucial part of shaping the improvement strategy in order to deliver the best possible experience for visitors.
As a result LCD Monitors have been installed in the Piazza area, providing visitors with minute-by-minute updates on forthcoming concerts, conferences and exhibitions.
Paul Thandi, recently announced CEO, NEC Group, is delighted with the improvements. He said: “The first phase has been a great success, providing us with great feedback and comments from all our customer groups. We will now continue with our £40 million investment programme, improving the fabric and service of the NEC.”
