They set us apart from the rest and place us at the forefront of the live events industry. Here are some of our most recent awards.
The M&IT awards are designed to recognise excellence in the industry and are voted for by event organisers and readers of Meetings and Incentive Travel magazine. The venue won bronze in 2014.
The Live UK Music Business Awards is one of the arena industry’s most prestigious award ceremonies. A panel of industry professionals shortlisted the Barclaycard Arena for its team’s dedication to delivering shows throughout the 18 month redevelopment of the entertainment venue. The shortlist was then taken to a public vote, where the Arena beat off competition from fellow category finalists The O2, London and Capital FM Arena, Nottingham.
The industry leading BIFM Awards recognise and showcase best in class facilities management and evidence its impact on business, the economy and society. This was the NEC’s fourth award in two years for its work to minimise the negative impact its operations have on the environment.
The industry leading FSM Awards bring together over 400 of the contract catering elite to pay tribute to those outstanding individuals who have been shortlisted. The Caterer of the Year Award – which recognises those that excel within the events sector of the contract catering industry - went to Amadeus General Manager of External Events, Sam Bates.
The IoD West Midlands region covers the counties of Staffordshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire, as well as the urban areas of Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull and the Black Country and is made up of over 1,800 directors and senior decision makers – the IoD Award winners represent the best of corporate governance and business ethics in their respective regions.
The EN Elite List is voted for by those in the exhibition industry – it recognises the people and businesses who go the extra mile and who strive to be the best.
The AEO Excellence Awards represent the best that the events industry has to offer and showcase the amazing achievements from within the industry. It was the second time in three years that Team NEC had been successful in the Venue Team category and tough opposition included Premiership giants in the form of Arsenal and Chelsea’s Meetings and Events Teams, in addition to regular industry rivals the Business Design Centre, Harrogate International Centre and ExCeL London. The presentation of the Excellence Award was based on the highest scoring individual entry across all of the Award submissions and was a fitting conclusion to proceedings.
The innovative new ICC website launched in June 2014 and was developed by the NEC Group’s in house digital and creative marketing teams, and overseen by the ICC marketing team. Expert MIMA judges at the prestigious awards were impressed by the ICC’s fully responsive website and its focus on ease of navigation for clients and visitors.

The industry leading BIFM Awards recognise and showcase best in class facilities management and evidence its impact on business, the economy and society. This was the NEC’s first National Award win and the venue was praised as a “compelling example of best practice in waste management”, beating major brands including Marks and Spencer and RBS to take the award
