The Ticket Factory has won the award for ‘Best Ticketing Company’ at last night’s Event Production Awards 2017 held at The Lancaster Hotel in London.

The Event Production Awards recognise and celebrate the hard work and achievements of key suppliers and contractors to the industry.

Midlands based business The Ticket Factory – which is the official box office for the NEC Group – was recognised for its consumer facing innovations launched over the last 12 months including its pioneering partnership with The Access Card, offering disabled customers the same ease of online booking as everyone else via its website.

The Access Card translates a person’s disability or impairment into symbols which highlight the barriers they face, informing providers quickly and discreetly about the support a person needs. Working with Nimbus Disability – creators of The Access Card – The Ticket Factory integrated nationwide data into its technology systems to provide a seamless booking experience at the Barclaycard Arena and the Genting Arena for disabled customers.

Launched to the public in February 2016, The Ticket Factory was the first ticketing agent to take this industry leading move and remains the only ticketing agent which has fully integrated the Access Card into its systems today. It was also commended for leading the way in its partnership with Twickets, a face value resale platform, and other pro-consumer initiatives launched over the last year.

Stuart Cain, Managing Director at The Ticket Factory, said:

“This is a key win for The Ticket Factory when it comes to raising awareness and credibility for existing and potential clients.

“We won due to some of the consumer facing innovations we have pioneered including The Access Card integration with our systems for disabled bookers, Twickets partnership and our generally innovative approach to online sales through functionality.

“This award underlines The Ticket Factory’s commitment to its vision to make ticketing, fast, simple and fun for customers and clients alike.”

With over 30 years’ experience in the live events industry and as one of the UK’s leading national ticket agents, The Ticket Factory sells over 2.5 million tickets per year for a variety of events ranging from comedy, concerts and sporting events, to exhibitions, theatre performances and visitor attractions.

The Ticket Factory was up against Cornucopia Events, Ticket Arena & Event Genius and Twickets in the Best Ticketing Company category. The win follows The Ticket Factory’s ‘Smart and Connected Award' at the internationally recognised Ticketing Technology Awards in 2016.
