It was one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year, as the UK’s most successful live act took to the stage last night for their final Wonderland Live concert in Birmingham.
The six sold out dates (5-6 May, 1-4 June) amassed total audience figures of over 82,000 at the Genting Arena, stunning audiences with the band’s infamous attention to detail and stage production including everything from a flying swans to magic carpets!
Performing ‘in the round’- a first for the band- Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald enthralled the Birmingham crowd by performing brand new material from their latest studio album, Wonderland, plus some much-loved classics.
Ian Congdon, Head of Arena Sales said: “Forever pushing the boundaries of stage design and performance, this has been without doubt Take That’s most mind-blowing and technically advanced tour to date. We relished the challenge of being the first venue on tour to experience the unique build and rehearsals for this fantastic show, and to have them back again for round two. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with their team and we look forward to their return to Birmingham- roll on the next tour!”
Prior to last night’s performance, Take That also played the One Love Manchester benefit concert following the Manchester attack, to raise funds for the Manchester Emergency Fund.
