The International Convention Centre (ICC) Birmingham welcomed 300 lawyers from the Society of Clinical Injury Lawyers (SCIL) through its doors for the first time last month.

With lawyers from across the country attending the SCIL Annual Conference and Exhibition, the location of the ICC Birmingham was paramount in the venue securing the event.

Stephen Webber, Chairman of the SCIL and Partner at Hugh James, said: “The ICC provided the best location for us and our delegates as its central location and proximity to the motorway network and train lines made it easier for delegates from across the country to access compared to a London venue.

“As well as location, the event space was important to us as we needed to hold a conference for 300 people, break-out areas, an exhibition and a buffet lunch. We needed different rooms of different sizes while maintaining a seamless experience for delegates – and that’s exactly what the ICC provided.

“The staff were absolutely fantastic; they were very helpful and well organised. We’ve had great feedback about the venue from our delegates and as organisers we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We’re now looking forward to returning in May for our AGM.”

The ICC’s location in the heart of the UK offers unrivalled connectivity by road, rail and air, with over 98% of the UK population within a four hour travel time and many associations report an increase in delegate numbers when holding their conference at the ICC. Its fantastic city centre location provides an enhanced delegate experience, offering a wide choice of restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, shopping and over 6,200 hotel bedrooms - all within easy walking distance.

Catherine Newhall-Caiger, Business Development Director for the ICC said: “We are delighted that the SCIL enjoyed their first conference with us - the feedback from the organisers and delegates is testament to our experience and expertise and reflects the effort we all put in to make the ICC Birmingham a welcoming venue. We look forward to welcoming them back for their AGM in May.”
