The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) has been named as the host of the next Birmingham Higher Education Exhibition.

The organiser UCAS has chosen to hold the event to the NEC citing the venue’s locations and flexibility as key factors in the decision.

Over 17,000 visitors are expected to attend the two-day event in Birmingham on 27-28 June 2016.

UCAS organise 50 higher education exhibitions up and down the UK each year, giving those with an interest in higher education a platform to connect with each other and young people the opportunity to gain an insight into the next phase of their lives.

Mike Smith, Conference and Events Manager at UCAS said: “The NEC is a really well-known venue located in the heart of the country that’s easily accessible to lots of people across the midlands. We’re looking forward to hosting this event there for the first time, and we hope to welcome thousands of young people over the two day period.”

The NEC already hosts an impressive list of events dedicated to the education sector, including; The Education Show, The Skills Show and The Big Bang Fair.

Jenny Wright, Business Development Executive at the NEC, said: “The Higher Education Exhibitions are designed to help young people approaching the end of their compulsory education or those interested in higher education the opportunity to explore their future options. We are delighted to be involved in the delivery of a show that will benefit thousands of people in and around Birmingham.”
