Deposit System

The NEC Deposit System is a process designed to ensure that, during the build-up of a show, vehicles leave the inner area as soon as they have unloaded. The Deposit System is implemented in order to avoid delays caused by congestion and to meet the HSE Guidelines regarding Workplace Transport.

On arrival to the Lorry Park each vehicle will be required to pay a deposit of £50 before being issued with an off-loading pass. This pass will have a time slot allocated in order to unload in a designated area.

The amount of time that is allocated to unload is dependent on the size of the vehicle as per the table below:

Size of VehicleTime
Up to 2 tonnesUp to 1 hour
Over 2 tonnesUp to 2 hours
Articulated vehiclesUp to 3 hours

The deposit will be refunded in full as long as the vehicle has been unloaded and returned to the Lorry Park within the time allowed. The vehicle will then be directed to a car park where a shuttle bus service will be in operation in order to return to the hall.

Passes must be displayed in the windscreen at all times. Failure to display the pass or staying in the inner area for longer than your allotted time may result in the vehicle being towed away.

Build-ups can be very busy and the NEC Traffic Officers appreciate your patience during this time.
