Q. We are not sure how many floor fixings we require, is this a problem?
A. We usually require details approximately 4 weeks prior to the build up of the show and usually for any orders after that date a 20% surcharge is imposed and for any 'on-site' orders a 40% surcharge is applied. The number of floor bolts you require depends on the nature of the structure you are building. Your Structural or Technical Engineer will advise on the number of bolts required and must then be ordered with the NEC through the Organisers Information & Order Manual.
Q. How much are floor fixings?
A. Tariffs are as follows and the price includes supply and fix. (Prices are subject to review.) Size 8mm diameter - 14mm diameter £16.92 per unit Size 16mm diameter - 25mm diameter £23.62 per unit.
Q. Can you provide rigging services?
A. The suspension of high level high intensity lighting fittings is permissible in some situations, subject to the approval of the exhibition organiser and the NEC. Rigging of stand fitting etc. is prohibited.
Q. Can we run our cables in your ducts?
A. Basically the answer is 'No'. This is because the ducts are already fully utilised in providing electric, water, gas and compressed air. However, there is an exception where we will allow data cables to be installed by an official contractor but this must be put onto a Pre-Payment Order form which can be found in the Organisers Information and Order Manual.
Q. How much does the electric supply cost?
A. The answer to this question can be found in your Information & Order (I & O) manual that will be supplied by the organiser for the show. Please contact the organiser if you do not have an I & O manual.
Q. Can we park around the halls?
A. Parking within the controlled inner area is restricted dependant on site activity and priority is given to visitors with disabilities and organisers of Exhibitions. Details can be provided by NEC Traffic department.

A. Car parks are allocated with consideration given to site activity and usage. It is not possible to offer dedicated show car parking except in exceptional circumstances.
Q. How wide/high are the doors in the Exhibition Halls?
A. The short answer to this question is that if the object can go under a motorway bridge then it can get into the hall. The doors are 5 metres high and 7.5 metres wide nominal.
Q. How high is the hall?
A. This varies from hall to hall and full details about each hall can be found in the section labelled 'Technical Hall Details'.

A. As a general rule we try to allocate the same Planner to the same exhibition each time it is on site. Please contact the Operations & Planning department for confirmation.
Q. Can we bring in our own catering?
A. The NEC is very proud of its reputation and we want to take every precaution to protect it. Before any discussions can take place about any other catering being offered we need to fully understand what is being proposed and can be assured that all legislative precautions have been put in place. Please put your request in writing to the Director of Catering.
