Analogue Telephone Lines,

The analogue telephone line is presented as a standard British
Telecom style socket on a trailing cable. An analogue line is
used for a standard analogue telephone and credit card (PDQ)
machines. IT is also possible to connect to the Internet using
your own Internet Service Provider (ISP) with an analogue line
and compatible modem, which will operate at speeds similar to
a home PC (56kbps). |

A digital line is needed if you require voicemail facility,
call diversion, hunt groups or wish to set up a switchboard
system on your stand. Please note that digital lines cannot
be used for connection to the internet or with fax, PDQ or modems. |

An ISDN digital line can be used to access the Internet using
your own Internet service provider. ISDN runs at a speed of
128kbs, twice as fast as an analogue line. An ISDN line is needed
for each computer on your stand, therefore if you are intending
to have more than one, the Direct Internet Service is recommended.
The ISDN line is presented as a RJ45 plug on a trailing cable
which can be simply connected to your equipment. |

Our Direct Internet Service is presented as RJ45 plug on a
trailing cable which can be simply connected to your computer.
There is no need for your own Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Our Direct Internet Service guarantees a speed between 128kbps
and 256kbps and by purchasing an extra IP address, a hub and
cables a number of computers can all run off the same line.
However, if you require a guaranteed speed of 256kbps or above
you need our High Bandwidth Dedicated Internet Access. |
