The unrivalled location of Birmingham’s International Convention Centre has helped its sales team secure a new contract with Community Care Live for 2015 and 2016.

The flagship event for leading industry publication Community Care is the largest free-to-attend event for registered Social Workers, local authority directors, commissioners and councillors across both Adult Care Services and Children and Families sectors.

Previously only ever held in London, the event is growing and adding Birmingham as a venue for the first time this year will see over 1,500 delegates from across the country descend on the ICC for the two day event on 12-13 May 2015.

Cheryl Smith, Project Manager at Community Care cited the ICC’s central location as one of the reasons for moving the event from London to Birmingham. She said: “Research from our delegates told us that we should expand the event to have coverage outside London and the South East and therefore encourage more people to attend. Birmingham was a logical location as it is a transport hub for many parts of the country and a gateway to the North. Through moving the event to the ICC we are expecting a record number of attendees.

“In addition to the location and transport links we chose the ICC because the space and facilities they offer suit our requirements perfectly. We’re confident we’ll have a successful congress and that our delegates will have a great experience.”

For the two day programme the congress will use five of the ICC’s halls and the media suite and will feature high profile speakers, an exhibition with key industry organisations and four interactive zones to enhance networking and knowledge gathering.

James Elston, Sales Director at the ICC said: “We’re delighted that Community Care has chosen to host CC Live at the ICC this year.  The ICC’s location in the heart of the UK offers unrivalled connectivity by road, rail and air, with over 98% of the UK population within a four hour travel time. Plus our fantastic city centre location provides an enhanced delegate experience, offering a wide choice of restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, and shops and over 6,200 hotel beds all within walking distance - so perhaps it’s no surprise that many of our events report an increase in attendance numbers when holding their event at the ICC Birmingham.

“We’ve worked closely with Community Care throughout the planning process to ensure their event objectives are met and their requirements fulfilled, so we look forward to welcoming them to our venue and providing them with a great experience.”
