Barclaycard Arena has been awarded the title ‘Best Venue Teamwork-Arenas’ at the Live UK Music Business Awards, one of the arena industry’s most prestigious award ceremonies.
The annual event hosted in London, recognises excellence and talent among promoters, venue operators, festival organisers and agents, through to artiste managers, tour managers, show producers, brand impact and record label partnerships.
A panel of industry professionals shortlisted the Barclaycard Arena for its team’s dedication to delivering shows throughout the 18 month redevelopment of the entertainment venue. The shortlist was then taken to a public vote, where the Arena beat off competition from fellow category finalists The O2, London and Capital FM Arena, Nottingham.
Phil Mead, Managing Director of NEC Group Arenas said: “For the Barclaycard Arena to win such an accolade is testament to how hard our Arenas Team worked during the months of the redevelopment; To successfully host 133 events in a building undergoing such an extensive structural transformation is a great achievement, and one that we should all be extremely proud of. The team has helped to build an even stronger proposition for promoters and artists alike, plus excellent facilities for our customers. They continue to drive a first-class service, demonstrating why we are one of the world’s premier arenas.”
