Amadeus named Sport Caterer of the year

Amadeus picked up the Sport and Leisure Caterer of the Year Award at the prestigious Foodservice Cateys 2016.

The award celebrated the success of the caterer’s food service at Birmingham’s Genting Arena and was presented to Catering General Manager for the Arena, Annie Monnox.

Amadeus has had an extremely successful year as caterers for the Genting Arena. The team, headed up by Annie, has demonstrated an ability to consistently deliver retail sales and fine dining excellence in a venue where numbers and customers differ at each event.

By implementing new systems, investing in staff training and looking at the overall improvement of the customer experience, the Genting Arena retail team has seen an increase in average transaction spend, rising from £7.12 to £8.22. 2016 has also seen record sales at some events, notably the Slam Dunk Festival, which surpassed its sales targets by £34k and averaged an £18 spend per head.

Catering General Manager for the Genting Arena, Annie Monnox, said: “We are delighted to have won the Sport and Leisure Caterer award. It is a testament to the hard work of the team behind the scenes to make the customer experience at the Genting Arena the best it can be. The team is set challenges and continually raises its game to keep breaking records and every member is committed to bettering themselves. Over the last 12 months, Amadeus has invested in its product and services at the Genting Arena to drive sales and enhance the customer experience. New adaptable kiosks have been installed in the food market to meet the varying demands of the audience, the Lakeside Lounge has undergone a £429k refurbishment new technology has been installed in hospitality areas leading to a five-minute reduction in serving time including a new pre-order technology.
